Amy Sheeran is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor-Supervisor in the state of Ohio, a Registered Play Therapist with The Association for Play Therapy, and a Credentialed Sandtray Therapist with The International Association of Sandtray Therapy. She also holds a certification in Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Amy received a Bachelor of Arts in Music Therapy from The College of Mount St. Joseph (now Mount St. Joseph University) in 1984. She received her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adams State University in 2015. Amy has over 40 years of experience in the mental health field, first as a music therapist working with psychiatric inpatient children, teens, and adults, and later as a counselor working in an agency setting with at-risk youth and foster children before opening her private practice in 2018.

Amy’s approach to therapy is collaborative and interactive. She provides a safe, supportive, respectful environment where the therapeutic relationship can thrive. Amy believes in using the therapeutic and healing powers of play and the creative arts across the lifespan to help clients live their best lives. She works with children, teens, and adults using modalities of play, sandtray, creative arts, and talk therapy to treat a variety of concerns including trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, self-esteem, ADHD, and adjustment to life stressors.
